Marlon Wells is a petroleum engineer with the ideal background for bringing together the best wellsite consultants in the industry.
Marlon began his career with El Paso Exploration, the forerunner to Meridian Oil/ Burlington Resources, where he spent 16 years and gained significant field and technical experience in various engineering roles across Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and offshore GOM.
In 1998, he joined St. Mary Land & Exploration, predecessor to SM Energy, where he spent the next 18 years in various technical and leadership positions across the Mid-Continent, Appalachia Basin, Uinta Basin and South Texas area, ultimately leading the efforts in the Eagleford play for the South Texas Region as Operations Manager.
Most recently, he served as Vice President of Operations for a private E&P group in the STACK area of Oklahoma, overseeing daily operations and development, vendor contracts and EHS objectives. He worked with the executive team and external investment groups to create and integrate strategic exploration plans to optimize the company’s asset base.
He has successfully managed the execution of large capital budgets and multiple lease operating budgets over a diverse set of conventional and unconventional assets and understands the process and the teamwork required to support a safe and cost effective operation.
